# EightyOne > EightyOne runs factories and field-service companies: machines, work orders, stock, quality and maintenance, all as tasks. It has a REST API (/api/v1, OpenAPI 3.1), an MCP server (/mcp) for AI agents, Standard Webhooks, and factory specs that set up a whole company from one file. It holds no prices or costs. ## Guides - [EightyOne developer docs](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/index.md): Start here: the ways in (REST, MCP, webhooks, the skill, factory specs) and where the reference is - [Getting started](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/getting-started.md): Credentials (API keys, OAuth, service accounts), the first call, ids, paging, errors, idempotency, dry runs - [Agents and MCP](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/agents-and-mcp.md): Connecting an MCP client, what agents can and can't do, preview-then-confirm, installing the skill - [Tasks: everything is a task](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/tasks.md): Task types, forms, statuses, completion, connections: everything that happens is a task - [Production: work orders, routings, counts, lots](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/production.md): Products, recipes, work centers, routings, work orders, release, counts, backflush, lots - [Inventory: storage, bins, moves, counts](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/inventory.md): Storage, bins, transfers, receiving, shipping, cycle counts, reordering - [Quality, maintenance and downtime](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/quality-and-maintenance.md): Inspections, NCRs and dispositions, failure coding, preventive maintenance, downtime - [Factory or managed services](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/factory-and-managed-services.md): The two kinds of company, and partner companies - [Commissioning: a company from one file](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/commissioning.md): Setting up a whole company from one factory spec: export, validate, plan, apply - [Webhooks](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/webhooks.md): Standard Webhooks deliveries, verifying the Ed25519 signature, retries - [Downloads](https://docs.eightyone.app/guides/downloads.md): The skill (plugin and zip), llms-full.txt, OpenAPI and the spec schema ## Reference - [EightyOne capabilities](https://docs.eightyone.app/reference/capabilities.md): Every operation: input, output, permission, REST path, MCP tool - [EightyOne webhook events](https://docs.eightyone.app/reference/events.md): Every webhook event and the fields of its data - [Errors](https://docs.eightyone.app/reference/errors.md): Every error code, what it means, what to do - [Permissions](https://docs.eightyone.app/reference/permissions.md): Every permission and the capabilities it unlocks - [OpenAPI 3.1](https://docs.eightyone.app/reference/openapi.json): the REST API and its webhooks - [Factory spec schema](https://docs.eightyone.app/reference/factory-spec.schema.json): JSON Schema of config.validate / plan / apply ## Agents - [The eightyone skill](https://docs.eightyone.app/skill/eightyone/SKILL.md): Rules and playbooks for agents working in EightyOne. - [MCP tools](https://docs.eightyone.app/skill/eightyone/reference/tools.md): every tool the MCP server lists ## Optional - [Everything in one file](https://docs.eightyone.app/llms-full.txt)
